Michelle Keegan has rejected Strictly Come Dancing due to nerves

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Keegan has turned down ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ “a few times” because she is “too scared” to take part.
The ‘Brassic’ star insists she would be “too nervous” to appear on the BBC One Latin and ballroom show, and admitted she even felt tense while watching her husband Mark Wright compete in the competition in 2014.
Speaking on Saturday’s (04.12.21) ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’, she says: “I have a few times [been asked]. But for me, it’s the live audience … it’s a skill. It takes a lot of dedication and skill.
“He [husband Mark] did it like five years ago.
“It’s the music before it happens and the audience is really quiet and the lights come on. My heart was in my mouth for him.
“I couldn’t be on the dance floor, too scared, too nervous.”
Judi Love – who took part in the show this year – admitted she used to start getting really nervous when her dance was being introduced on the show.
She says: “Dancing live you could trip, you could forget a step, it’s so huge. It’s when they say ‘dancing to’ that’s the bit!
“Physically, it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
“It makes me think more about health and finding something you really enjoy.”
As well as Michelle, ‘Gavin and Stacey’ star Rob Brydon also admitted he has turned down a spot on ‘Strictly’ over the years, but singer Craig David is yet to be asked.
Rob adds: “They have [asked me] and I’ve said no. It’s one thing to be able to mess around and it’s another to follow choreography. It’s so hard. It’s a bit like learning lines for a play, trying to cram them into your head.”
He jokes: “The curse, that’d be the worry for me.
“For me, it’s more of a surprise that people don’t get it on. You spend all week entwined with each other.
“It would be confusing. People would think I’m on it because of my resemblance to that very handsome man, Anton Du Beke, who I’m often mistaken for. I get it every Saturday night when the series is on, on Twitter, ‘Well done Rob, you’re adapting to being a judge really well this series!’ ”
Asked if he’s been approached for the show and whether he’d do it, Craig says: “I’m good in a house party. Put me on the TV my feet would start to move differently. They haven’t [asked me]. They’ve seen the house party moves.”
‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ airs Saturday at 10.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
