This Morning’s Alison and Dermot ‘potential heirs’ to Phil and Holly

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary are said to be “potential heirs” to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on ‘This Morning’.
The pair have proved popular with audiences after co-hosting the ITV brunch-time show every Friday since the beginning of the year, and while there are no concrete plans to replace Phil and Holly in the Monday-Thursday slot, bosses are said to be keeping an eagle eye on Alison and Dermot.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “There are no firm plans to replace the hosts but producers always keep an eye on potential heirs.
“Alison and Dermot will have been scrutinised during their week-long stint to see how ‘This Morning’ would look if they took over full-time. And the verdict was very favourable.
“They are very much viewed as a breath of fresh air and have had a largely positive response from viewers.”
Alison and Dermot took over as the Friday hosts of the show from veteran co-hosts and couple Eamonn Holmes, 61, and Ruth Langsford, 61.
Former ‘Big Brother’ contestant Alison recently admitted she calls ‘X Factor’ presenter Dermot her “work husband”.
“I call Dermot my work husband because it was like an arranged marriage.
“Because of COVID, there were no screen tests. No lunch. Nothing.
“We literally did a Zoom and we couldn’t even get that right.
“I was waiting for half an hour and he wasn’t there and he was waiting on a different Zoom!
“Then we spoke on the phone briefly and it was just, ‘OK, I’ll see you on Friday then.’
“We are so honest with each other now. We tell each other, ‘Can you not do that again. I don’t like it.’
“It’s the little things, nothing major. For example, he steals my lines and he doesn’t keep up to speed with my life on Instagram even though we host a show together.”
