This Morning host Eamonn Holmes catches COVID-19

OHMYGOSSIP — Eamon Holmes has tested positive for COVID-19.
The ‘This Morning’ presenter – who is married to his co-host Ruth Langsford – took to Twitter to let his fans know he has contracted coronavirus and has apologised for missing out on “professional and personal events” to self-isolate.
The 61-year-old broadcaster tweeted: “Covid finally caught me .Thankfully I’m Double jabbed.
“More than Half way through my isolation and coping with the symptoms and effects well. Unfortunately I’m going to be a No Show for some Professional & Personal events. Just want to let everyone know why and offer my apologies. (sic)”
This is not the only recent health problem that he has battled against as Eamonn has also been suffering with a back injury – three discs which dislodged and have been impinging on his sciatic nerve – which has meant he has needed physiotherapy sessions several times a week.
Back in April, the TV journalist admitted it might take a year for his back to fully heal.
He said: “I’m going to embark on a whole rehabilitation programme, I’ll get fit, I’ll get strong.
“It will take a while, but the doctor said to me when you get this your nerve endings die off, but they grow a centimetre a month.
“I thought, ‘That’s good,’ but he said, ‘No, it’s got to go from your hip to your toes.’
“That’s going to be about a year.”
Eamonn’s wife Ruth, 61, admitted she has felt “helpless” seeing her husband in pain.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’, she said: “He’s alright, he’s here. And it’s a long road, we know that.
“It’s very difficult seeing him in so much pain. You feel a bit helpless, actually.”
Eamonn underwent double hip replacement surgery in 2016 after putting off the operation for 25 years to focus on his career.
