Richard Blackwood ‘too busy’ at Hollyoaks for EastEnders return

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Blackwood is “too busy” at ‘Hollyoaks’ to return to ‘EastEnders’.
The 49-year-old star has ruled out going back to Albert Square anytime soon to reprise his role as Vincent Hubbard, because he has plenty to do in Cheshire in the ‘Channel 4’ soap as Felix Westwood.
It comes after Vincent’s wife Kim Fox-Hubbard (Tameka Empson) looks into his whereabouts, after he went missing in April 2018.
Richard said: “I like that Vincent and Felix are going through the same thing, getting in trouble.
“I enjoy that Vincent is still being mentioned, though. However, everyone keeps asking if Vincent will come back. Sorry to disappoint, but I’m busy – I’m on ‘Hollyoaks’ every day.”
Richard admitted is still in contact with Tameka, 44, but he is not very good at calling her back.
He said: “Tameka’s amazing. We’ve known each other for a long time. We will always have that friendship, but I’m terrible – she always calls me, and I forget to call back … I’m the worst!
“But we’ll always be there for each other.”
Richard has also heaped praised on his ‘Hollyoaks’ co-star Kelle Bryan, 46, who plays Martine Deveraux, his character Felix’s childhood sweetheart.
He added to Inside Soap magazine: “She was at my son’s christening 20 years ago! We have a love for each other that comes from a real place. Although if you ask Kelle, she’d say I’m hard to work with because I’m always making her laugh.
“She always tells me not to look at her in scenes.”
