Maggie leaves Bake Off after forgetting to use flour

OHMYGOSSIP — Maggie was axed from ‘The Great British Bake Off’ after forgetting to use flour in her sticky toffee pudding.
The 70-year old retired midwife was eliminated from the series following the faux-pas.
On her exit, she said: “It’s been such good fun. To have stayed for four weeks, I think it comes pretty high on a personal level but nothing can beat delivering a baby and bringing a new life into the world – but it comes quite second!”
Maggie was far from downhearted by her axing, caused by the calamitous calorific treat, but admitted she will miss her fellow bakers.
She penned a letter to fans of the Channel 4 baking favourite, writing: “Who would have thought that at my time of life I would have been picked to have the time of my life? After almost a year of ups and downs, successes and failures I will miss being a part of the GBBO team so much. I want to thank so many of you who were so kind and supportive via all your messages. I entered the tent as a ‘traditional’ baker (you heard that many times!) but have come out inspired to try things that I would never have dreamed of.”
Show judge Prue Leith was quick to comfort Maggie upon her exit and congratulated her on doing so well.
She said: “Maggie, you’ve honestly done so well,” while host Matt Lucas said: “We’re gonna miss you so much!”
Maggie had initially promised Prue that her sticky toffee pudding “tasted like summer” before it collapsed.
