John Whaite and Johannes Radebe top Strictly leaderboard in Movie Week

OHMYGOSSIP — John Whaite and Johannes Radebe topped the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard in Movie Week, scoring three 10s.
The former ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner and his professional dance partner scored 39 out of 40, with hard-to-please judge Craig Revel Horwood the only one to not pull out his number 10 paddle board for the pair’s impressive Paso Doble as pirates to the theme of Disney’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.
‘CBBC’ presenter Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu scored their first 10 of the series, with 37 points for their Couple’s Choice routine to the ‘Spider-Man’ theme.
Elsewhere, ‘EastEnders’ actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice didn’t leave a dry eye in the room, with their moving Foxtrot to ‘Rose’s Theme’ from Titanic.
After the flawless performance, which scored them 36 out of 40, placing them in third place, co-host Tess Daly said: “Goodness me, not a dry eye in the house!”
Judge Motsi Mabuse hailed the performance “very, very beautiful,” and head judge Shirley Ballas said it was “exquisite”.
Despite coming in fourth place with a score of 35 for her American Smooth to ‘I Have Nothing’ by Whitney Houston from ‘The Bodyguard’, AJ Odudu broke down in tears next to partner Kai Widdrington, as she admitted she has struggled with “self-doubt” this week.
She told co-host Claudia Winkleman: “I do feel emotional because … I’ve had a lot of self-doubt this week and I really wanted to execute it well.
“I didn’t want to let anyone down, especially Kai, with such a beautiful dance.”
The pair were top of the leaderboard in week one, and overall last week, when scores from the previous week were added together.
Meanwhile, McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden made their return to the BBC One Latin and ballroom contest, after they missed week two when they both tested positive for COVID-19.
The musician got fulfil his dream by paying tribute to ‘Back to the Future’, the iconic movie he named his pop-rock band after.
They took to the floor for a Jive to ‘Johnny B. Goode’, the theme tune, and earned a score of 32.
At the bottom of the leaderboard, is competitive swimmer Adam Peaty and Katya Jones, who will need viewers at home’s help to make it to next week, with an abysmal score of just 20.
Last week, former ‘EastEnders’ star Nina Wadia became the first contestant to be booted off the show.
The results show airs on BBC One from 7.10pm on Sunday (10.10.21).
