Graham Norton says lockdown gave him glimpse of retirement he didn’t like

OHMYGOSSIP — Graham Norton was put off of retirement by experiencing life in lockdown.
The 56-year-old TV star is set to burst back onto the box as a judge on ‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race’, and he is preparing for the return of his own chat show – but he has changed his mind about taking a step back from the small screen.
He said: “I was thinking I wanted to retire, and then in that first lockdown I was getting a preview of what retirement might be like and not liking it so much. So I started thinking, ‘Actually, aren’t I lucky that I get to work?’ ”
The chat show host had been planning to slow down until the first coronavirus pandemic lockdown hit.
He said: “I had this idea that I was going to cut down on my workload, just kind of take my foot off the pedal a bit, and yet the opposite has happened. I’m busier now than I think I’ve ever been.”
‘The Graham Norton Show ‘is set to return to screens soon, with 007 star Daniel Craig, 53, and ‘Bad Habits’ singer Ed Sheeran, 30, billed as the star guests who will take a seat on the famous sofa.
Graham also noted that having a purpose in life is important to him.
He added: “Having somewhere to be or somebody who wants you to show up, or just having a purpose in a day changes your free time, makes it different.”
Graham also joked that his dream guest to appear on his show would be none other than Queen Elizabeth, 95.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he quipped: “If the queen wants to come on and do some sort of PR makeover, she’s very welcome. She needs some good times.”
