Holly Willoughby breaks down in tears as Kate Garraway issues update on husband Derek Draper

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby broke down in tears as Kate Garraway urged coronavirus deniers to “spend an hour in my home” to see the real-life effects of COVID.
The ‘This Morning’ presenter and her co-host Phillip Schofield were speaking to the ‘Good Morning Britain’ star ahead of tonight’s (09.09.21) National Television Awards, for which Kate has a nod in the Authored Documentary category for her film ‘Kate Garraway: Finding Derek’, about her husband Derek Draper’s coronavirus ordeal and on-going battle with the after-effects.
Speaking on the brunch-time show, Kate – who has children Darcey, 15, and 12-year-old Billy with Derek – said: “If you don’t think it [coronavirus] exists, come and spend an hour in my home.
“You don’t want to go through what Derek’s gone through.
“You don’t want your children to go through what Bill and Darcey are going through.
“You don’t want the worry Derek’s parents are going through.
“You don’t want that in your life.
“And if getting vaccinated makes the symptoms you get and the effect of COVID on you or someone you love better then it kinda seems a no-brainer to me.”
Following her comments, Phil told Kate she is a “remarkable woman”, and Holly got emotional and said: “Sorry, Kate.”
Kate replied: “Holly, are you crying? I can’t see you. Please don’t cry. I don’t want to make everybody miserable.”
Holly said: “I know, but you’ve done so well.”
Kate then said: “Oh God, sorry, Holly. Don’t cry. I want to hug you. You will make me cry now.
“Thank you, guys, and I’m sorry to make you sad.”
The TV presenter also admitted Derek’s on-going recovery feels “painfully slow”.
She said: “It feels like there is no change. It feels painfully slow.”
Kate also said Derek sleeps 20 hours a day, and while he can’t talk, she believes he “understands everything”.
