Only Fools and Horses pub Nags Head is open for business

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Only Fools and Horses’ star Gwyneth Strong has helped open a recreation of the Nags Head.
The 61-year-old actress – who played Rodney Trotter’s (Nicholas Lyndhurst) wife Cassandra on the beloved sitcom – was joined by Philip Pope (Tony Angelino) and Andree Bernard (Nervous Nerys) to launch a replica of the iconic pub to mark the show’s 40th anniversary.
Comedy TV channel Gold are behind the pop-up venue, which opened to the public on Thursday (02.09.21) and is only available for three days.
The bar has been recreated to be true to the series, including the striped wallpaper and chequered floor, as well as the “framed pictures, stuffed rabbit, horse bronzes and trinkets”.
Patrons will also find the Trotter’s 1972 Reliant Rebel Supervan III parked outside.
Gwyneth said: “I can’t believe it’s been 40 years since the show first aired.
“There is such a loyal fan base and they are going to love this, it’s like going back in time and being back in the original pub!”
And Gerald Casey, Gold channel director, added: ”We’re excited to be celebrating 40 years of ’Only Fools and Horses’, the nation’s favourite sitcom, with our recreation of the iconic Nags Head pub.
“We can’t wait to bring some classic Del Boy and Rodney moments to fans young and old when we air every episode the series, starting 8th September on the Gold channel. Cheers!”
Customers will be able to buy a pint for 83p as they get transported back to the 1980s, with classic items on the menu including Creme de la Menthe and Britvic Orange, plus bar snacks like pork scratchings, scampi fries and cheeselets.
The Nags Head will be open for business in London on Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th September 2021 from midday until 9pm.
Tickets for a table to seat up to 4 people for 45 minutes are free, but visitors will need to apply for their table at gold.uktv.co.uk/nagshead.
