Chelcee Grimes rules out I’m A Celeb 2021

OHMYGOSSIP — Chelcee Grimes has ruled herself out of ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ this year.
It was previously rumoured that the 29-year-old footballer, songwriter, and television presenter was heading into Gwrych Castle in Wales, where the ITV reality show has been filmed amid the COVID-19 pandemic, due to Australian travel restrictions, last year.
With the show set to return to the historical landmark, the Liverpudlian addressed whether or not she will be a part of the celebrity lineup when the show returns to screens later this year.
And Chelcee – who has co-written songs for pop royalty, including Dua Lipa and Kylie Minogue – has insisted she couldn’t face isolating after the past 18 months.
Asked if she’ll be heading to Abergele in Conwy, she told the Daily Star: “Right now not so much, no, I know last year there were a few stories about me on ‘I’m A Celeb’.
“I think at the minute, I’ve been isolating for that long so I don’t think I’d be able to go and isolate somewhere else.
“Especially in a jungle and eating bugs.”
The sports personality was also asked if she fancies swapping the football pitch for the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ ballroom, and while she hasn’t ruled it out completely, she insisted she’d need to perfect her dance moves first before performing in front of millions of viewers.
She said: “Dancing is not really my thing, maybe in a few years if I did a bit of practice but I think right now, I’ve got enough on my plate.
“Especially with the football, the TV and the podcast, so I’m quite happy watching it from home.”
Chelcee is set to compete in Soccer Aid this weekend, and she’d love to become the first female to score in the televised charity match.
The Merseyrail Ladies FC player said: “Hopefully this year, I will get a goal but we won last year which was amazing but there was no crowd, so this time, obviously a full Etihad Stadium, it’s going to be amazing.
“It was only two years ago women were allowed to play. I’ve watched Soccer Aid since I was a kid just imagining one day I’d play there.
“But obviously when they did announce women playing two years ago, it was just England professionals so I didn’t think there would ever be a chance for me but last year I was the first woman to play from entertainment, that was a bit of history.
“If I can go on and score, it would be magic, but as long as we win and raise loads of money, that’s the main thing.”
