Strictly Come Dancing in ‘chaos’ after COVID case

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has been thrown into “chaos” after Nadiya Bychkova tested positive for coronavirus.
The professionals of the ballroom and Latin show have only just started training again in preparation for the BBC show’s return in late September, but it looks like there is already mayhem on the dance floor as the blonde beauty has caught the virus and now she and everyone she has come into contact with recently – including many of the cast and crew – will have to isolate for the next 10 days.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “This isn’t exactly the dream start. Obviously, BBC bosses are panicking. They are taking every caution to be Covid secure, and keep everyone safe, but can’t control everything. Nadiya tested positive during one of the first meet-ups, during the studio rig.
“Thankfully none of the celebs have started training yet, but it still means anyone who came into contact with her has been told they must isolate. “Obviously the fear is that dancers and celebs will continue to test positive as the rehearsals and training starts for real later this month.
“Yet more measures and precautions may need to be put in place – clearly execs won’t take any chances, and safety is their number one priority.”
This is not the first time the pandemic has wreaked havoc for the show as boxer Nicola Adams and her partner Katya Jones were forced to leave the competition last year after the Russian dancer tested positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the forthcoming series looks set to be an exciting one as there will be four new faces joining the professional line-up this year.
Kai Widdrington, Nikita Kuzmin, Cameron Lombard, and Jowita Przystal have been added to the class of 2021 alongside Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Johannes Radebe, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Luba Mushtuk, Nancy Xu, Neil Jones, Oti Mabuse and Nadiya.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns for its 19th series this autumn on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
