Kate Garraway’s house hit by ‘nightmare’ flooding

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Garraway’s house has been hit by “nightmare” flooding.
Torrential downpours in London this week resulted in three inches of rain hitting parts of the capital within 90 minutes, and the ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter’s house was one of those affected by the adverse weather conditions.
She said: “Severe flooding in the storms on Monday night so woke up on Tuesday morning to find …
“Well, we live on a hill. So you come in the door at one level and you go down the steps to the back garden – so everything underneath completely flooded.
“Completely flooded. Total nuisance, a total nightmare.
“Thanks to Grandad, Derek’s dad, and Auntie Di, we have managed to clear it all out.”
However, her son Billy is due to turn 12 tomorrow (17.07.21), but in the flood clear out the giant paddling pool for his party has accidentally been chucked.
Kate said: “The only problem is it’s Billy’s birthday tomorrow.
“We’ve got good weather and it’s going to be a paddling pool party.
“The only problem is in the clear out we’ve thrown away the pool. I’m not joking.”
The TV presenter has been desperately trying to track one down, and she was forced to make a live TV appeal for a big paddling pool to save her youngest child’s birthday party.
Speaking on ‘GMB’, she added: “I’ve tried everywhere. The closest one I could find online for click and collect was in Falkirk – 400 miles away.
“We have got a little paddling pool, but we need one of those structured ones.
“So this is an absolute blatant plea to any shops between here and Falkirk which has one of those pools with plastic tubed sides, or if you’ve got one in your shed, I will pay quantities of cash to get it today.”
It comes after Kate had the opposite problem last year when she woke up on Billy’s 11th birthday to find out she had no water – and she had to enlist TV presenter Robert Rinder to help.
She wrote on Instagram at the time: “Also @judgerinder for when I woke up this morning to find had NO WATER , not even a toilet flushing , instantly scrambled into plumbing action. Consider yourself seriously happy birthdayed Billy!!! (sic)”
Kate shares son Billy and 15-year-old daughter Darcey with her husband Derek Draper, who is still battling the after-effects of coronavirus, despite defeating COVID.
The former lobbyist was hospitalised with the virus in March 2020, and he was able to return home on April 7th 2021, after spending more than a year in hospital.
But Derek is still receiving 24/7 care at home.
