Death In Paradise star Ralf Little dreams of living on Mars

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Death In Paradise’ star Ralf Little’s dream is to live on Mars.
The 41-year-old actor – who plays DI Neville Parker in the BBC crime drama – is obsessed with space travel and the recent missions to the Red Planet which have beamed back images and videos from the Red Planet.
Ralf – who is most famous for portraying Antony Royle in comedy series ‘The Royle Family’ – is ready to step up and be one of the first colonists to Mars and thinks the human race have to leave Earth and start again on a new planet to ensure the survival of the species.
And he could see a life on Mars being a utopia with “space pubs” and no hassles.
Speaking on the ‘Two Pints with Will & Ralf’ podcast, he said: “They’re talking about going to Mars again, were talking about sending people to the Moon and sending people to Mars, we’ve got rocket ships that land vertically.
“In the 90s and the 2000s when I was younger, I was like, ‘Oh, well, the future is going to arrive in 200 years and suddenly it’s here.’
“I’d love to live on Mars, I would love it. Eventually they’ll be space pubs and everything.
“The future is here, not only have they landed a rover on Mars, they flew a helicopter on Mars, that’s just insane. The maddest thing about it all is that we can see it, the pictures and the video we are getting back you are literally looking at it going, ‘That’s from a different planet!’ It’s mind-blowing. ”
Ralf believes it is necessary for Mars to be colonised because it will safeguard the survival of the human race and stop the species from ever becoming extinct.
He said: “We can go to Mars and humanity can expand and against the traditions of history we don’t have to wipe out an entire population to do it.
“The point of going to Mars would be while we live on one planet as a species it’s very possible for us to go extinct from an asteroid or whatever. But once we get to get to two planets the chances of us as a species becoming extinct drop to almost zero. That’s pretty amazing when you think of that.”
