Harry Redknapp thankful for just ‘a few lines’ in EastEnders cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Redknapp has joked he would still be recording his ‘EastEnders’ cameo today if he had more than “a few lines”.
The 74-year-old footballer manager “really enjoyed” shooting a small stint in the BBC One soap, which will air on Friday (09.07.21), but he is glad he didn’t have too much to say when the cameras were rolling.
He said: “They made it easy for me.
“I only had a few lines, thankfully, otherwise we could still be recording today.
“It was good fun, I am a real East Ender and very proud of that.
“So to actually get a little cameo part in the show good fun for me. I really enjoyed it.”
Harry’s wife Sandra Redknapp is a huge fan of the goings on in Albert Square, but he joked she’ll probably give the show a swerve when he graces Walford with his presence later this week.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he quipped: “My wife loves watching the programme anyway.
“She probably won’t watch it when I’m on but she watches it every other week.”
Former West Ham United manager Harry’s cameo will see him head into the Queen Vic on Friday, and pub landlord Mick Carter – played by Danny Dyer – will be over the moon as he gets his Hammers shirt signed up by the football legend.
It has also been revealed Harry will be a good friend of Brian Conley’s character Terry ‘Rocky’ Cant when he makes his Walford debut.
Rocky is equally as pleased to see Harry, but his daughter Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) appears surprised to see the former Spurs gaffer in the Square.
His appearance will cause quite a stir with the Albert Square residents as he turns up ahead of the Euro 2020 final, which is on Sunday (11.07.21).
