OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’s Lisa George returned to school during the COVID-19 pandemic. The actress – who has played Beth Tinker in the show for the past decade – was unable to film during the global health crisis as she was shielding so she enrolled herself on a number of online courses to keep busy. Lisa, 50, told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “I actually kept myself so busy and made sure I kept my routine of getting up at 7am every morning. “During the first lockdown I was so diligent, and spent a lot of time doing all the restoration pieces that I’d been wanting to do for ages but never had the time. “And I’ve done three diplomas! I saw a course on the history of native America so I did a diploma in that and I got a distinction. “I learnt so much about how, well most of them were persecuted to be honest with you, but I learnt about all the different tribes and how they came about, their migration into America and Canada and I absolutely loved it! “Then I did a diploma on the history of the Tudors. I’m really obsessed with the Tudors and then I did another diploma ‘Henry the VIII and his six wives, because I know quite a lot about him.” Lisa admitted the courses are a big commitment but says she loves to study. She explained: “You have to do 150 hours for each diploma from further adult education centre, I’m currently half-way through an interior design course which I love. I just love studying! And it’s been so good for my brain. I’ve always been a bit of a geek.”
