OHMYGOSSIP — Charley Webb won’t return to ‘Emmerdale’ while COVID-19 restrictions are still in place. The 33-year-old actress plays Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap but her husband and co-star Matthew Wolfenden has revealed that she is not keen to return during the pandemic. Speaking on ‘This Morning’, he said: “She went back for 10 weeks over Christmas for a big storyline and then she finished again. “To be honest filming there at the moment with COVID regulations is tough. “Me and Paige [Sandhu], who plays Meena [Jutla] have spent the last year setting up a relationship where we’re never more than two metres, we’ve filmed with masks on and it’s difficult. “Everyone’s rallied round and made it what it is. But yeah. I think for her to go back now when all this is still happening is not what she wants to do. “I think she’ll wait until all the restrictions have dropped.” Matthew, 41, also spoke about this week’s huge storyline which will see Meena murder someone and he admitted that his character David Metcalfe may not survive. He said: “Basically if there’s a serial killer in the village, no one is safe. I can’t tell you who it’s gonna be, I can’t say a word! “Meena is such a dark character, she’s a bit of a bunny boiler. I think David could definitely be in for it! “The problem with murdering on a soap is you’re never going to last very long on there. “You can’t be a serial killer, or a serial killer’s righthand man, without there being a sticky end so I’m hoping that’s not going to happen.”
