OHMYGOSSIP — Alastair Campbell is returning to co-host ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Wednesday – after he made a dig at Richard Madeley on today’s show. The former Labour Party spin doctor guest presented the programme for three episodes in May, and he will be back alongside Susanna Reid on tomorrow’s (07.07.21) show. Speaking on today’s (06.07.21) ‘GMB’, Richard – who was guest hosting alongside Susanna – said: “‘Good Morning Britain’ is back tomorrow from six – you’re doing it with Alastair Campbell aren’t you?” Susanna replied: “I am indeed.” Richard said: “Good stuff, give him my best.” Susanna added: “Have a lovely morning off.” Richard’s comments came after Alastair took a dig at him during this morning’s show, after the former ‘This Morning’ presenter referred to the Prime Minister Boris Johnson by his first name. Alastair wrote on Twitter: “Can someone shout in Richard Madeley’s ear ‘stop calling him Boris’ @gmb (sic)” And he tweeted: “Watching the debate on @gmb – hard to escape the view the mask debate has been deliberately engineered by the government as the latest in their ‘culture war’ games. Added to which JOHNSON (not Boris please) has got bored with Covid like he is bored with Brexit. (sic)” However, it’s not the first time this issue has irritated Alastair, as he previously told Susanna off for calling the PM “Boris” as well. She joked: “[I] write down the rules.” Alastair added: “They’re not rules, they’re common sense – as Boris Johnson would say.” Susanna then said: “Don’t you think that calling people by their surname is a little bit … kind of rude? I wouldn’t call you Campbell.” Alastair replied: “Headlines do. I’d say Johnson … Call him Blair, just call him Blair.”
