Whitney Port reflects on pregnancy loss while meeting newborn nephew

OHMYGOSSIP — Whitney Port has reflected on her pregnancy loss after meeting her newborn nephew who arrived the same week she was due to give birth.
The 36-year-old reality star visited Chicago this week to assist her sister Jade in delivering her baby boy, Tate, who was born around the same time that Whitney would have been due to give birth to her own second child.
Whitney unfortunately miscarried eight weeks into her pregnancy, and in a post on her Instagram story, she said she was sending a “big virtual hug” to anyone else dealing with fertility issues.
Alongside a picture of herself holding her nephew, she wrote: “Crazy to think I would have had a newborn within this week too. Jade and I got pregnant at the exact same time last fall (isn’t that wild?)and then I miscarried after 8 weeks. Sad to really think about it but I just wanted to say it to just get it out of my head and send everyone who is dealing with any kind of fertility issues a big virtual hug. (sic)”
Whitney’s miscarriage came after she had previously endured another pregnancy loss in July 2019, while she and her husband Tim Rosenman were trying for a sibling for their three-year-old son Sonny Sanford.
And the ‘Hills: New Beginnings’ star said earlier this year she will never be “fully healed” from the pain of her losses.
She said: “I don’t think you’re ever fully healed after a loss. I think these losses make you into a stronger person. I don’t wish them upon anybody, but they do give you a lot of good perspective, and they give you a lot of time to appreciate the things that you have.”
The star also admitted she questioned herself at the time of her second miscarriage, wondering if she did something wrong.
She added: “It felt like, ‘Why is this happening to me? Was there anything that I did wrong? Is there anything wrong with my body? Now that this has happened twice, you know I think that’s sometimes one of the first things that we think about when this stuff happens to us, especially as women and being such harsh critics on ourselves. Then you realise, no, this is not something that you have any control over and you need to immediately release that part.”
