OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Hollywood is being lined-up to join ‘Dancing On Ice’. The 41-year-old actor – who is best known for starring on ‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’, but left the comedy show last year – is being eyed by ITV bosses to join the cast in 2022. A source told The Sun newspaper: “‘Dancing on Ice’ approached Gary last year to participate and he jumped at the chance to do it – but he was still part of the show and had to turn it down. ‘Mrs Browns’ don’t like their stars doing reality shows. “’Dancing On Ice’ would be perfect for him, after the difficult year he’s has with his brother Gerard passing and the whole ‘Mrs Brown’s drama, this is exactly what he needs to get back out there. “He’s outgoing, funny and extremely competitive.” Gary wasn’t able to commit to the show in the past, but TV bosses are now keen to sign him up. The insider said: “It makes sense we want Gary again, he’s now a free agent and no longer bound to one show. “TV audiences seem to love him and it’s shown in the latest ratings for ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’.” In spite of this, an ITV spokesperson insists a decision has not yet been taken about the next series. The spokesperson said: “No decisions have been made on our cast for 2022.” Gary left ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ last year amid a pay dispute. Speaking about his exit from the show, he previously said: “I feel I wasn’t being paid equally and I wasn’t being given an explanation for decisions. “When I tried to resolve it, nothing was done. I was just disregarded. But I won’t put up with it any more. I won’t be treated like that.”
