Claire King glad for Emmerdale return as she avoids theatre tours

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire King is “really pleased” she returned to ‘Emmerdale’ – so she didn’t have to go on any theatre tours.
The Dales legend – who plays soap super-bitch Kim Tate in the ITV show – admitted the time felt “just about right” to head back to programme, which she first appeared on in 1989.
She said: “I was really pleased I turned up, because it was at that point in my life where I thought, ‘I just really don’t want to be trogging around going on tour again when theatres were open.’
“It had come up a few times over the years, but it was just about the right time now.”
Claire was expecting a “nice little retirement job” on ‘Emmerdale’, but she blames her character Kim, who has “too many fingers in too many pies and being involved in the whole village”, for her busy time on set.
She added: “I was so pleased to be back, it is great.
“I didn’t think the workload would be quite as much as it has been.
“I thought, ‘Ooh, nice little retirement job.’ No.”
The former ‘Bad Girls’ actress – who has also starred in ‘Coronation Street’ as Erica Holroyd from 2014 to 2017 – previously admitted she is determined to live her life to the full, and insisted she won’t take anything for granted.
She explained: “You have to enjoy life as much as possible. Be nice to other people. Live life, enjoy life and treat others with respect. And don’t take life for granted because something like that can happen at any time to any one of us.”
