Rudolph Walker awarded CBE

OHMYGOSSIP — Rudolph Walker has been awarded a CBE.
The ‘EastEnders’ legend – who has played Patrick Trueman in the BBC One soap since 2001 – was recognised for his services to drama and charity.
The 81-year-old actor was handed his CBE – which means Commander of the Order of the British Empire, and is the highest-ranking British Empire award – on Thursday (24.06.21) by Prince Charles in the St James’s Palace State Apartments.
A message on the Princes of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s official Clarence House Twitter account read: “Well done to actor @RudolphWalkerDA, who received a CBE for services to Drama and to Charity.
“Performing arts Rudolph is most well known for his role on soap-opera Eastenders and set-up his own @RWFoundation_ to help develop the creative skills of young people. (sic)”
Rudolph’s Foundation tweeted: “Our founder @RudolphWalkerDA collected his CBE from Buckingham Palace today. Well deserved. We are beyond proud.”
The foundation – which the actor launched on his 70th birthday – aims to nurture and develop the creative and technical skills and talents of young people by providing them with equipment and facilities, which will enable them to produce and distribute audio visual programmes and other types of digital content relating to their culture, history, music and the world in which they live.
As well as his 20-year stint in ‘EastEnders’, the star is also known for portraying Bill Reynolds in ITV sitcom ‘Love Thy Neighbour’, which ran for eight series from 1972 to 1976.
