Samantha Giles tells trolls to ‘keep their mouths shut’

OHMYGOSSIP — Samantha Giles has told online trolls to “keep [their] mouth shut”.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress – who plays Bernice Blackstock on the ITV soap – had ranted about “selfish yobs” making noise outside her hotel in the early hours of Wednesday morning (23.06.21), and some followers didn’t see the issue.
She initially tweeted: “Thanks to a bunch of selfish yobos outside my hotel have had dreadful nights sleep. Give me animals every time. (sic)”
Although many of her fans agreed with her – including one who suggested “some people have no respect” – others weren’t quite so sympathetic.
One user wrote: “Like you’ve got to go the factory and do a 12 hour shift, get real ffs (sic)
Samantha hit back: “I think you know very little about my life so I’d keep your mouth shut if I were you!”
Another insisted the AGE-year-old star herself could be the “selfish one”.
They tweeted: “Take it you were never young, ever thought you might be selfish anti fun police. Get a grip love theres people starving in the world (sic)”
However, Samantha quickly replied: What at 4am???? Ha ha get a grip yourself love. (sic)”
And she later revealed she had blocked two profiles on the social media platform after the rows.
She wrote: “That’s two I’ve blocked today. I’m in a feisty mood…”
Meanwhile, Samantha made her return to ‘Emmerdale’ in June after leaving the ITV soap in 2019 to pursue other projects including more stage roles, but her theatre plans were curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The actress – who has played Bernice on and off since 1998 – was honoured that the show’s bosses to ask her to come back to the village once again and knew she had to say yes.
She said: “It’s lovely to be asked back. One reason I left was to do some theatre, but at the moment we’re in this really peculiar situation with the pandemic.
“I did some streamed theatre, but that’s not the same as doing it live in front of a live audience.
“When ‘Emmerdale’ approached me, I thought I couldn’t turn it down.”
