Anton Du Beke wears sequined ‘underclothes’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anton Du Beke wears sequined underwear.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro – who married Hannah Summers in 2017 – keeps a pair of jazzy thongs at home that he puts on to cheer his wife up whenever she looks glum.
He said: “If I see a disappointed look on her face I whip something sequin out. Just for her. I’m always wearing a sequin something. Invariably an underclothes of some description.”
However, he has not always enjoyed the experience as the sharp sequins often dig into his body.
He told the ‘Jackie Weaver Has the Authority’ podcast: “It’s very important if you’re going to wear a sequin Y-front or a hot pant, or a thong, that when you cut the fabric you make sure you take the sequin off from the edges.
“Because they get really sharp and can nip a little bit, and then it becomes a bit uncomfortable. So you have to be very careful with that, and you don’t want any chafing.”
Anton, 54, will return to the BBC Latin and ballroom competition in the upcoming 2021 series as he joins the judging panel alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse.
Meanwhile, the show will feature pros Oti Mabuse, Katya Jones, Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Janette Manrara, Johannes Radebe, Karen Hauer, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Nancy Xu, and Neil Jones.
This year sees no new dancers joining the ranks, but it will mark the first time Nancy Xu has been given a celebrity partner since joining the series in 2019 and taking part in all the choreographed group numbers.
In a statement, Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios, said: “We are so thrilled to be welcoming back our incredible line-up of professional dancers for 2021. Their passion and dedication for ‘Strictly’ shone through more than ever last year as they all sacrificed so much to deliver an unforgettable series during unprecedented and challenging times. With so much talent returning to the ballroom, the 2021 series promises more show-stopping choreography, memorable performances and world class dancing.”
