Steven Moffat reunites with former Timelords for new dramas

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Moffat has turned to a pair of former ‘Doctor Who’ stars as he bids to make two dramas simultaneously.
The 59-year-old TV writer is helping to make Amazon’s ‘The Devil’s Hour’ with ex-‘Doctor Who’ star Peter Capaldi, while the Netflix thriller ‘The Inside Man’ will feature former Doctor David Tennant.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Whovians will be thrilled to learn that these two top dramas will feature David and Peter, the tenth and twelfth Timelords respectively.”
Steven is the executive producer of Hartswood Films, and the former Doctors are both delighted to be working with him once again.
The source said: “It reflects just how close he was to the show and its stars that he continues to feature them in Hartswood projects. They’re just as thrilled to be taking part.
“The twin shows are among the most anticipated of this year – the team at the acclaimed production company also gave us the modern reboot of ‘Sherlock’ and ‘Dracula’ for the BBC.”
Last year, Steven – who left ‘Doctor Who’ in 2017 after seven years – wrote a number of mini online specials for the sci-fi saga.
However, at the time, he also played down the chance of returning to pen an episode of the series itself.
He explained: “I’ve always said, and Russell [T Davies] has always said, I’ll come back when there’s an emergency. Well what do you call this?
“But no, I think that ‘Doctor Who’ has to change hands and have new creators, new people involved.
“And remember, I wrote a ton of them! I think I’m out of ideas. I don’t have a single one left.”
