Gillian Anderson: Discussions are underway about the return of The Fall

OHMYGOSSIP — Gillian Anderson has spilled that their have been discussions to bring ‘The Fall’ back.
The Northern Ireland-set BBC crime show featured Gillian as DSI Stella Gibson investigating several murders committed by serial killer Paul Spector, played by Jamie Dornan. It ran for three series before ending in October 2016.
The former ‘X-Files’ star has now revealed that she and writer Allan Cubitt have had talks about bringing DSI Gibson back to screens.
In an interview with Variety, she said: “[‘The Fall’] is something we are in discussions about.
“Even when we ended those three seasons, we talked about the fact that one day – maybe in the same way that ‘Prime Suspect’ came back.
“There were huge breaks between their seasons. Our writer-creator-director Allan Cubitt has been ready to dip back in and revisit it and her.”
Gillian recently earned rave reviews for her portrayal of late former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in Season 4 of Netflix royal drama ‘The Crown’.
The 52-year-old actress admits it was her partner, ‘The Crown’ creator Peter Morgan, who talked her into playing the divise Conservative party leader, claiming that she and Thatcher shared similar personality traits.
Gillian said: “My partner, Peter Morgan had expressed that we had some similarities, just in terms of our work ethic; I’m quite a perfectionist. I really didn’t know her until I had started to do the research, and she’s such a divisive character — over here specifically. It wasn’t until I dove into her that I kind of understood why it made sense that I might play her. It was almost like an alchemic thing.”
