OHMYGOSSIP — ‘All Round To Mrs Brown’s’ will not return this year. While the ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ spin-off talk show – which sees Brendan O’Carroll as the titular character, who invites celebrity guests into her house – has been shelved for 2021, the BBC has told Agnes Brown fans they will have something to look forward to “very soon”. A spokesman said: “While ‘All Round To Mrs Brown’s’ will not be returning this year, fans need not worry as some very exciting Mrs Brown news is coming very soon.” The show is said to have been axed for this year due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions. A TV insider told the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column: “Execs have tried just about everything to get this year’s series made, but the restrictions have made it impossible. “It’s the first year since the show started that it won’t be airing. “It’s such a shame for everyone involved and of course its millions of viewers.” But Brendan has previously insisted he doesn’t think the main show, ‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’, will ever be axed due to political correctness. Speaking in December, he said: “I don’t think Mrs Brown will be affected, and I often question myself is Mrs Brown, me a man dressing up as a woman to play Mrs Brown, the same as blackface? “And decided no it’s not, because I’ve never played Mrs Brown as a man playing a woman like they do in films like Mrs Doubtfire. Agnes is a woman like Dame Edna. “I would never go out of my way to be racist or homophobic so I’m not that worried myself because I only write what I think is funny, and you hope that enough of an audience agrees with you.”
