GB News’ Andrew Neil and Piers Morgan have ‘different ideas’ about ex-GMB star’s ‘worth’

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Neil would still like Piers Morgan to join GB News, but the pair have “different ideas” about “what he’s worth”.
The 72-year-old broadcaster is up for bringing the former ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter to his new channel – which launches on Sunday (13.06.21) – but he has claimed Piers is still being paid “a ton of money” by ITV, so doesn’t believe he needs the work at the moment.
He said: “It would be nice to have him.
“But he’s got his own idea of what he is worth and we have a slightly different idea of what he’s worth.
“He is in a lucky situation because ITV are continuing to pay him a ton of money, so he doesn’t have to do anything in the short run.”
While the pair cannot agree on a price for Piers – who quit ‘GMB’ in March after making controversial comments about Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex – Andrew is confident the journalist-turned-TV presenter wouldn’t go to another UK news channel, but fears he might be signed if a “huge American offer” comes in.
He added to the Evening Standard newspaper: “I don’t think he’s going to go anywhere else in the UK.
“If he has a huge American offer that’s a different matter.
“No one in the UK can compete with that, but if he’s going to do more UK news TV I hope it will be with us.”
Andrew previously admitted Piers would be a “huge asset” for the free-to-air channel.
Speaking in March, he said: “We’re about to launch GB News.
“It’ll be a different kind of news channel and I think Piers would be a huge asset for that kind of news channel.”
Later in March, former Sky Sports News presenter Kirsty Gallacher confirmed she had joined GB News.
She tweeted at the time: “BREAKING NEWS… (excuse the pun!) I’m thrilled to announce I will be joining @GBNEWS as part of the channel’s breakfast team. Telling stories that matter to people is what drew me to broadcast journalism in the first place so I am beyond excited to get started! (sic)”
