Gwen Stefani confirms joining The Voice US
OHMYGOSSIP — No Doubt star Gwen Stefani has confirmed that she has joined The Voice US, making it already one of the best line-ups a reality talent show has ever had. Gwen will be joining the NBC series for its seventh season, joining fellow newcomer Pharrell Williams. The 44-year-old posted a photo of herself holding a Voice microphone, with the special V, on her Instagram account.
Along with the image, she wrote: “Its true! @nbcthevoice.”
Gwen Stefani will be replacing Christina Aguilera, who will be taking some family time to spend with her new baby. It’s thought that Gwen will join the show for one season, replacing pregnant Christina Aguilera, who leaked the news ahead of the official announcement earlier this week.
“So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani,” Christina tweeted. “Welcome to our crazy fam! Kisses- xoxo #blondesdoitbest.”
Oscar-nominated star Pharrell Williams officially signed up for the hit reality competition show earlier this year, after having appeared on the show for Team Usher as a season four mentor for the nerve-wracking battle rounds.
The show’s current judges, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have already sent their congratulations to the Happy chart-topper. Incoming judges, Gwen and Pharrell, will be performing next week on Monday May 5, showing exactly why they will be perfect for the job.
It has been reported that Pharrell will be performing his new single, while Gwen will be singing her 2005 hit single Hollaback Girl.
Adam and Blake are expected to return as judges on the show, however no official announcement has been made.
Last night Adam tweeted: “Welcome to the party @gwenstefani!!!!! S***s about to get real.”
