Paul Chuckle raising £12k for ChuckleVision animations

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Chuckle has launched a Crowdfunder page to raise £12,000 for a new animated version of ‘ChuckleVision’.
The 73-year-old actor – whose brother and comedy partner Barry died in 2018 – has asked for donations to help fund the cartoon after losing thousands he would have made starring in pantomimes, which were axed due to the closure of theatres amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Paul told The Sun newspaper: “With the sad passing of Barry, fans asked if there could be a way of seeing a version of ‘ChuckleVision’.
“The only possible way would be a cartoon.
“As such, if anyone had a little spare money, we’re trying to fund a short cartoon pilot.”
Crowdfunder co-founder Rob Love said: “This is the beauty of crowdfunding.”
Fans of the children’s TV show – which featured the pair’s famous catchphrase, ‘to me, to you’ – can even be a part of the pilot if they are willing to fork out £2,500 to have one of the characters named after them.
Another way Paul has been making money amid the global health crisis is by flogging COVID-themed merchandise, including ‘ChuckleVision’ face masks.
The £10 face coverings feature the phrase ‘2 Metre U’ on them – a twist on ‘to me, to you’.
The TV star – who appeared on ‘ChuckleVision’ for more than two decades – managed to sell as many as 1,279 items to his fans back in February, including a £13.50 coffee cup.
One of the shoppers said at the time: “He’s doing incredibly well. It’s amazing.
“Even after all these years, Paul has a massive fan base.”
Paul previously admitted he misses working with his sibling.
The comedy star described himself as “Ernie Wise to his Eric Morecambe”.
He explained: “I miss working with Barry. He made me laugh at the drop of a hat.
“When Barry died, he wanted me to carry on, so I did about 15 clubs that November. They probably wanted to see me before I popped off too! But, really, I wasn’t sure how I’d ever work again without him. I was the feed and he was the comic. I was the Ernie Wise to his Eric Morecambe.”
