Stacey Dooley monkeys around on Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Dooley was left terrified after being mobbed by monkeys whilst filming the new series of ‘Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over’.
For one episode of her documentary series, the 34-year-old filmmaker stays with Reece Oliver, who is known as ‘The British Lion King’ due to his collection of big cats and other wild animals.
During her visit Stacey was invited to go into the cage with Reece’s pet monkeys and feed them but she admits she wasn’t expecting to get so up close and personal with the primates.
In an interview with the Daily Express newspaper, she said: “In this series, Reece had a load of monkeys. I went into their cage with lots of food, and it was like a scene out of ‘Jurassic Park’.
“The monkeys were all over me. I was screaming, and at the same time trying not to scream because I didn’t want to scare them. All I could see was my producer standing outside the cage crying with laughter. I immediately thought, ‘that’s the trailer!’ And of course, it is!”
As well as staying over with Reece, Stacey also spends time with the family of a child model and a clan of eco warriors for her W channel programme and she admits her time with her interviewees has made her realise how dull her own home life is with boyfriend Kevin Clifton.
The TV star – who met and fell in love with Kevin when they were partnered together on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – said: “What I take from the families I stayed with is how incredibly dull I am! They have really brilliant conversations and they stand for something. After being immersed in their lives for 72 hours, they make you realise how un-rock ’n’ roll you are. I come home and live a very mundane life. The telly is on, I have a cup of tea, Kev’s asleep on the sofa and the washing hasn’t been done. Nothing to write home about, I’m afraid.”
Stacey and Kevin, 38, not only won each other’s hearts on ‘Strictly’ but also won the glitterball trophy in 2018, and she admits her appearance and success on the ballroom show has been great for her career.
She said: “It definitely changed the demographic.
“I think up until ‘Strictly’, I had a real presence on BBC Three, but I don’t think I was a household name by any stretch of
the imagination.
“I was known for documentaries, but then ‘Strictly’ catapults you into a different space. Suddenly, Mary in Tesco knows who you are. So it’s definitely changed my life for the better.”
