Rio Ferdinand: I’m a better man because of Kate

OHMYGOSSIP — Rio Ferdinand says wife Kate Ferdinand has helped him become “a better man”.
The former soccer star has heaped praise on his spouse – with whom he shares son Cree, four months, for making him the “happiest he has ever been” following the tragic death of his Rebecca, who died in 2015 aged 34.
Speaking to Sportsmail, he said: “You really do learn about yourself. I was so low that you don’t see a way out. But if you have good people then you can claw your way out to the point where you are as happy as you have ever been. Kate has helped to make me a better man. There is no doubt about that. And you have your own moments. You have a drink on your own and look back and realise you have come a f****** long way in the last few years.”
Meanwhile, Kate previously opened up about motherhood, admitting she “cried every single day” after Cree’s birth.
She said: “I think I cried every single day for about five weeks. You expect to be doing everything you possibly can for your baby and when you can’t … It was something I really struggled with. I was in my own little world, I felt really confused and had lots of anxiety and I didn’t think anyone understood. I was all over the place emotionally. I couldn’t even put my trousers on or my knickers.”
However, Kate is going through a “gradual recovery” after the baby’s arrival.
She added: “I am slowly feeling better each day, it’s a gradual recovery and I’m taking it really easy but it’s good to be seeing little improvements daily. I’ve always been super emotional. Whatever I’m feeling everyone always knows. I like to wear my heart on my sleeve. Since giving birth my emotions are still all over the place, I cry often …
“I feel so happy with our beautiful new addition but often have moments of feeling overwhelmed. I don’t know whether I’m coming or going.”
