Kate Middleton is taking flying lessons
OHMYGOSSIP — The Duchess of Cambridge has revealed that she is learning how to fly a plane. The 31-year-old told a group of RAF officers that she had been taking lessons in a fixed-wing aircraft. She is quoted by Daily Mail saying: “My grandfather [the late RAF pilot Peter Middleton] flew planes.
“I’ve had a few lessons on fixed wing.”
However, Kensington Palace would not confirm reports that Catherine was being taught by her brother-in-law, Prince Harry.
Apache helicopter pilot Harry, was taught to fly fixed-wing planes at the Army Air Corps base in Middle Wallop, Hampshire, in 2008.
The Duchess was helping to promote the Poppy Appeal in London.
She and Prince William surprised commuters at High Street Kensington underground station when they arrived on a classic 1960s London Routemaster bus, accompanied by forces personnel and poppy sellers.
Prince William enjoyed his bus trip, saying: “It’s very sociable. Although I suppose everyone’s got their earphones in.”
Joining them on the bus was actress Barbara Windsor who asked after baby George.
Prince William said: “He’s behaving himself this morning.”
