Lady Leshurr gets Dancing on Ice encouragement from Matt Lucas

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Leshurr has received a message of support from Matt Lucas ahead of her latest ‘Dancing on Ice’ performance.
The 32-year-old rapper will take to the ice in the latest episode of the ITV series tonight (28.02.21) to perform a routine based on ‘Jurassic Park’ and has received encouragement from the ‘Little Britain’ star.
Matt told the ‘Dancing on Ice’ hopeful: “You just have to commit to it, enjoy being someone else. And if you fall, make it an iconic fall.”
The star bonded with the comic after they rapped his ‘Baked Potato’ song during an appearance on ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ last year and Matt is “proud” to see how she has progressed on the ice skating show.
He told her on their FaceTime call: “I’m really proud of you. I’ve been watching – I see you grow every week.”
The singer described Matt as an “inspiration” and aspired to be like ‘The Great British Bake Off’ judge when she was younger.
Speaking to Angela Scanlon on her ‘Thanks A Million’ podcast, the singer said: “I grew up on Matt, I wanted to be like him.
“It’s mad meeting someone you’re inspired by.”
Leshurr – who is partnered with pro Brendyn Hatfield – previously admitted that she didn’t realise the “toll” ‘Dancing on Ice’ would take on her body and admits that the risk of injury makes the show “nerve-wracking”.
She explained: “It’s nerve-wracking because, entering the show, I never thought of all the other things that could happen.
“I just thought: ‘Yay, I’m going to learn how to skate.’ I never thought: ‘Yay, I might do the moonwalk and break my foot.’ I never thought about all the injuries that come with it…
“I’m really petite. I’m five nothing. I can get picked up and flung everywhere. I realised that my body is not as healthy or fit as it used to be.
“I was waking up in the mornings and my body was just locking. My back was just stiff. I thought: ‘Wow, these tricks and lifts are really taking a toll on my body.'”
