Bonnie Anderson set to quit Neighbours

OHMYGOSSIP — Bonnie Anderson is leaving ‘Neighbours’ later this year.
The 26-year-old actress – who has played Bea Nilsson on the show since 2018 – has confirmed she will leave the Australian soap in mid-2021 to focus on her music career.
She told the Sunday Herald Sun newspaper: “I was like a pig in mud at that place. ‘Neighbours’ really changed my life for the better in so, so many ways. I feel like at the age I was, 23, when I joined the show it has really shaped me into the person that I am today.
“I have overcome a lot, I have grown and I am proud of the way I live my life. It was really good to have that structure and now after three-and-a-half years on that show I have decided it is time for me to continue challenging myself and create space to focus on my music and songwriting and more acting.”
Bonnie rose to fame at the age of 12 after she won ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ in 2007 and was offered to sing the ‘Neighbours’ theme song.
She released her debut single ‘Raise the Bar’ in 2013 before touring around Australia with Olly Murs in 2014.
Speaking about the theme song, Bonnie quipped: “We’re trying to keep it to the iconic theme song that it is – and not create a hip-hop track or anything like that!
“This is really cool for me to be doing the theme song, especially being a singer myself. It was really an honour to be asked to do this. Honestly, I got emotional!”
Now, Bonnie is looking to release more music while still pursuing different acting roles as she doesn’t want to do “one thing”.
She explained: “I don’t want to stick with just one thing. I am ready to spread my wings. I am ready to fly.
“First up, it is going to be nice to get into the studio and write some songs and put them out there.”
