Sofia Vergara not rushing to marry

OHMYGOSSIP — Sofia Vergara is in no rush to wed US businessman Nick Loeb, whom she has been engaged to for over a year. The ‘Modern Family’ actress got engaged to US businessman Nick Loeb over a year ago and despite pressure to tie the knot, the Colombian beauty says they still aren’t ready to set a date.

Speaking to TV host Chelsea Handler last night (09.10.13), she said: “I was thinking the other day that Americans take engagements like, ‘Okay, we’re engaged. It means let’s plan weddings.’

“But for a couple of Latin Americans, you get engaged, but it’s like another stage in your love life. It doesn’t mean, ‘Okay, let’s immediately call the flower place.’ It’s like another period.”

Although she joked about her engagement, Sofia, 41, wasn’t wearing her ring on the show, fuelling rumours she has had a major falling out with condiment entrepreneur Nick and could be thinking twice about the engagement.

Youthful looking Sofia – the highest paid female actress on US TV – also joked on ‘Chelsea Later’ about how her son Manolo, 22, gets embarrassed when people mistake him for being her boyfriend.

She explained: “Sometimes, like in New York, we’re looking at stuff and the guy’s like, ‘Come! Get this for your girlfriend!’ And I’m super [into it], and then he starts like, ‘Mom! Mom!’ He hates it. I love it. [To make him feel better] I only date guys that are at least 10 years older than him.”
