Vivienne Westwood teams up with Matchesfashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Vivienne Westwood has collaborated with Matchesfashion.com to create a collection of “classic” and “elegant” red carpet dresses. The mix of cocktail dresses and floor-length gowns – modelled by Daisy Lowe – have been described by the design team as “classic” and “elegant” and are in celebration of the British designer’s long-lasting career in fashion.

A statement released by the brand said: “We are pleased to partner with Matchesfashion for this collection, as they have chosen some beautiful existing styles from our archive and allowed us to introduce new silhouettes to their customers.

“The collection is really classic and elegant, as it incorporates the best of Vivienne’s designs then and now.”

The collection features four notable Vivienne Westood styles including the iconic squiggle print that appeared in the autumn/winter 1981 pirate collection and the brand’s hourglass silhouettes.

Matchesfashion head of fashion Natalie Kingham said: “The squiggle print is iconic and translates brilliantly to Vivienne Westwood’s signature red carpet gowns – effortlessly glamorous with a subversive twist, they offer our clients something timeless and extremely special.”

Fans can expect fork out a hefty fee for the coveted items which range from £2,125 to £2,970.
