Justin Timberlake ‘hopeful’ for the future

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake is feeling “hopeful” for the future of the US.
The ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ hitmaker and his collaborator Ant Clemons performed their song ‘Better Days’ during the ‘Celebrating America’ TV special after President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office on Wednesday (20.01.21) and though the 39-year-old star thinks there is “a lot of work to do” to rebuild the future of his home country, he’s optimistic.
He wrote on Instagram alongside a video of the performance: “Better Days – Inauguration 2021 Today we all watched @joebiden and @kamalaharris take office — and make history.
“Tonight, @antclemons and I are deeply honored to perform our new song, BETTER DAYS, as a celebration of everything this administration represents… as well as a reminder to keep our eyes on the road ahead. We have a lot of work to do, but I’m feeling very hopeful for this country right now.”
Justin and Ant performed the song on the streets of Memphis, where they were joined by students and alumni of the Stax Music Academy, before taking to the stage at the Stax Museum of American Soul Music and the ‘SexyBack’ hitmaker admitted the educational facility is “very special” to him.
He wrote: ” A huge thank you to my friends, students and alumni at @staxmusicacademy for performing with us on your grounds in our hometown of Memphis. This is a very special place to me, because it exists to nurture the next generation of great soul communicators.
“And if we’ve learned anything this year, it’s that this new generation of voices is powerful and crucial to creating much needed change (sic)”
Justin wanted the song – which he first dropped last month – to bring “joy” to his fans.
He added: “I hope you all enjoy the performance, and I hope, more than anything, that this song brings a little bit of joy as we move forward.”
Elsewhere during the 90-minute TV special – which was hosted by Tom Hanks – viewers enjoyed performances from the likes of Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, and John Legend.
