Miss Universe Ecuador 2013 Constanza María Báez Jalil

OHMYGOSSIP — Constanza María Báez Jalil (born January 4, 1991) is a Model and an Ecuadorian beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Ecuador 2013 and the official representative at Miss Universe 2013 pageant for Ecuador.

Born to an Ecuadorian father and an half Lebanese mother. Báez speaks Spanish, English, and German, she loves crossfit and play soccer and she is Economist graduated at Universidad Santa María de Guayaquil.

Báez, who stands 1.75 m (5 ft 9 in) tall, competed as a representative of Pichincha, one of the 15 contestants in her country’s national beauty pageant, Miss Ecuador 2013, broadcast live on March 8, 2013 from Guayaquil, where she obtained the Best Figure award, and became the eventual winner of the title, gaining the right to represent Ecuador in Miss Universe 2013.

Báez will represent Ecuador at the Miss Universe 2013 pageant on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Moscow, Russia.

Miss Universe 2013 will be the 62nd Miss Universe pageant. It will be held on November 9, 2013 at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia. Olivia Culpo, Miss Universe 2012 from the USA will crown her successor at the end of the event. This will be the first time Russia will host. The pageant will be televised on NBC and Telemundo.

Miss Universe is an annual international beauty contest run by the Miss Universe Organization. The pageant is the most publicized beauty contest in the world with 600 million viewers. The contest was founded in 1952 by California clothing company Pacific Mills. The pageant became part of Kayser-Roth and then Gulf and Western Industries, before being acquired by Donald Trump in 1996. In 1998, Miss Universe changed its name from Miss Universe, Inc. to Miss Universe Organization and the headquarters moved from Long Beach California, to New York City that year. Donald Trump brought in a new team of professionals to the contest headed by its new CEO, Molly Miles, and president Maureen Reidy. The contest would use the slogan “Redefined for Today” for promotion of the pageants.

Ecuador is also home to a great variety of species, many of them endemic, like those of the Galápagos islands. This species diversity makes Ecuador one of the 17 megadiverse countries in the world.The new constitution of 2008 is the first in the world to recognize legally enforceable Rights of Nature, or ecosystem rights.

Ecuador is a presidential republic and became independent in 1830, after having been part of the Spanish colonial empire, and for a much shorter time of the republic of Gran Colombia. It is a medium-income country with an HDI score of 0.720 (2011).
