Mary Berry urges people to get the vaccine

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary Berry has urged people to “think of others” and get the coronavirus vaccine.
The 85-year-old star chef – who, along with her 88-year-old husband Paul, has had the jab – insisted she “would encourage everyone” to follow suit and “not query” getting the injection.
She told the Radio Times magazine: “If you’re in a hospital like I was, with people in callipers, people in pain…
“I think everyone should take the vaccine… I had polio, but now almost the whole world is vaccinated against it.”
The ‘Celebrity Best Home Cook’ host feels “immensely fortunate” that the disease only impacted the left side of her body.
And she explained that besides from looking “a bit funny” when she rolls pastry with her “funny left hand”, she was left with “no other difficulties whatsoever”.
She added: “I’m not as good at sport as I was, but I was let off very lightly.”
Meanwhile, Mary has continued to work during the pandemic, and used binoculars to judge contestants from a 15ft viewing platform on BBC’s upcoming show ‘Celebrity Best Home Cook’.
Contestant Tom Read Wilson – who is the ‘Celebs Go Dating’ receptionist – recently revealed: “Mary, for the whole thing, because of Covid, was on a kind of beautiful mezzanine that they built for her.
“And they gave her a pair of beautiful opera glasses so she could look over and see what we’re up to, which was just great.”
When cooking was complete on the BBC One show – which is due to air later this year – Mary headed down to give her feedback on the dishes.
Tom admitted he enjoyed having the former ‘Great British Bake Off’ judge looking over the contestants while they were making their dishes.
He added: “I couldn’t be happier about her being there.”
