Dancing on Ice: 5 crew members ‘test positive for Covid’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Dancing on Ice’ bosses have put “even stricter regulations” in place after five crew members tested positive for coronavirus.
The latest series of the ITV show – which is co-hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby – is due to kick off on Sunday (17.01.21), and producers are “urging everyone” to take note of the new measures.
A TV insider said: “More than five members of production are isolating because of Covid right now – it’s become a nightmare.
“ITV have put a number of stringent rules in place, and after seeing members of production going down with it, they are urging everyone to take note of them.
“They’re now enforcing even stricter regulations.”
While the positive Covid tests are a blow to the show, producers are confident the programme will still air on Sunday.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “While there are concerns about further people having to isolate, bosses are confident they have put all the precautions in place to safely be able to get the show on air.”
ITV bosses have inside the “welfare” of everyone attached to the programme is their “first priority”.
An ITV spokesman said: “The welfare of everyone who works on ‘Dancing On Ice’ is our first priority.
“We have had a robust set of measures in place ever since work on the series commenced to ensure the wellbeing of everyone connected with the production.”
It was recently revealed the judges – Ashley Banjo, John Barrowman, Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill – will be separated by Perspex dividers in the upcoming series.
A source recently said: “Everyone needs a bit of glitz and glamour in their lives right now and TV shows are doing their best to stay on air and be safe.
“ITV showed they could do it with ‘I’m A Celebrity’ and now they’re doing it again with ‘Dancing On Ice’.”
