Olivia Bromley hopeful Emmerdale filming will be back to ‘normal’ soon

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Bromley is “hopeful” ‘Emmerdale’ will be able to go back to “normal filming quite soon”.
The Dales star – who plays Dawn Taylor in the ITV soap – has admitted the cast and crew have been working in “very small cohorts” to stay safe amid the coronavirus pandemic, but she is hoping the vaccine roll out means it is not too long until things get back to how they were.
She said: “There’s a lovely Yorkshire spirit in ‘Emmerdale’.
“We’ve been working in very small cohorts now to keep us all safe.
“So we’re not seeing our wider cast as much.
“I’ve been working with Dean Andrews and Katherine Dow Blyton really closely for the whole year, so that’s nice.
“We just keep each other’s spirits buoyed and crack on with it really.
“Hopefully, we’ll be able to go back to normal filming and normal life quite soon with all this vaccine news.”
Despite admitting it is a “bizarre way of working”filming amid coronavirus pandemic restrictions, Olivia is “so grateful” the soap has remained on air.
Speaking to ‘Lorraine’, she added: “I’m so grateful we’ve managed to stay on air. It’s amazing really.
“I don’t think we’ve had a week off screen at all.
“We’ve got very odd systems to keep us all safe, like a two-metre stick.
“It is a bizarre way of working, but we are all adapting and used to it now.
“We’re just lucky we’ve managed to keep going.”
Olivia made history on the soap last year as she was involved in filming Emmerdale’s first socially-distanced murder.
But the star admitted the scenes, in which Dawn was seen killing DI Malone (Mark Womack) in self defence, had their challenges.
Reflecting on the shoot, Olivia said: “I’m just thrilled we managed to get back to work and start filming again! I hope we’ve pulled it off under such difficult circumstances.
“I’m really proud to be part of the ‘Emmerdale’ team, who have worked so hard to keep the show going and the stories exciting, despite everything that’s going on in the world.”
