Big Brother host defends interview with aggressive housemate
OHMYGOSSIP — Big Brother presenter Emma Willis has defended her interview with ejected housemate Daley Ojuederie, after claims that the host was “too easy” on the former boxer. Ojuederie was removed from the Big Brother house for what producers referred to as “aggressive and unacceptable behaviour” – which included taking fellow contestant Hazel O’Sullivan by the throat and pinning her to a bed.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Willis insisted that it was not her job to “crucify” Daley when she interviewed him on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side following his ejection.
Willis told the site: “He wanted to come on to apologise for what he’d done. He knew he was wrong and he’d seen how awful it was.
“I had a lot of criticism for being too easy on him, but I just felt this guy has potentially really screwed everything up for himself in every which way… and was so upset and crying that I wasn’t there to crucify him any more than he’s crucifying himself.
“That’s not my job. We have to look after anybody that comes out of that house mentally if they make major mistakes like he did.”
But the former This Morning presenter agreed that show bosses were absolutely correct to remove Daley from the reality TV house.
Willis went on to add: “I think it’s always a shame when something like that happens in there, but I think they did absolutely the right thing in taking him out.”
