Linda Barker: I ‘wasn’t asked’ to star in Changing Rooms reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — Linda Barker “wasn’t asked” to star in the ‘Changing Rooms’ reboot.
The 59-year-old interior designer fronted the iconic BBC One show between 1996 and 2004, but she has revealed she wasn’t asked to return to the show, which is returning on Channel 4.
Asked why she isn’t taking part, she said: “I don’t know. I wasn’t asked. I don’t know. I think it’s nice that it’s coming back. I don’t think you could repeat exactly what we had. It’s just one of those things really.”
However, Linda insists she will still be watching her friend Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Davina McCall on the reboot of the iconic show, as she revealed she has such “fond memories” of her time on the show.
She added: “Yes, of course I’ll still watch. It’ll be really good. I have such fond memories of that show. It was the turning point in my career. It’s been wonderful for me.”
And Linda thinks it is a great time for the show to return amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
She shared: “I think it’s really good the show is making a return, I think it’s perfect. In lockdown lots of people are talking about renovations and you look at the TV and there’s not that much in terms of interior design and I think it’s very timely and I think it’s rather brilliant.”
Linda sees her former co-star Laurence from “time to time”.
Speaking to Entertainment Daily, she said: “We see each other from time to time. I’ll see them all [her old co-stars] at industry events and we had a reunion not so long ago and that was really nice.”
