Bonnie Langford open to EastEnders comeback

OHMYGOSSIP — Bonnie Langford hasn’t ruled out a return to ‘EastEnders’.
The 56-year-old actress – who played Carmel Kazemi on the BBC soap from 2015 to 2018 – admitted the door is open for her character to head back to Albert Square and take care of on-screen son Kush, played by Davood Ghadami.
She told ‘Entertainment Daily’: “I don’t think Carmel’s dead so who knows? Never say never.
“I’m an actor, I’ve got to work. Kush needs his mother back!
“Carmel went to Dubai but she might have to come back and make sure he’s behaving himself.”
Bonnie also blasted the government response to the arts during the coronavirus pandemic, and insisted there needs to be more support.
She said: “Nobody expects to be given anything for nothing. However, we do pay our tax like everybody else.
“The thing that’s been hardest of all is the fact there are certain people in the world who have turned round and said we should retrain because our jobs are not viable.
“That is really awful. What would everybody be doing if there wasn’t any telly, any music, any art or film? I think it would be dystopian.”
The actress commented on the impact the pandemic has had on the theatre industry, and the need for backing during such a difficult time.
She added: “We’re all freelance, we don’t get furlough, most people have fallen through the cracks of the self-employment income support scheme – and suddenly there’s no money at all.
“All those people are without income and the bills don’t stop. It’s my job, it pays my mortgage and my tax and I need to be able to do it.”
