Sir Sean Connery’s ashes to be scattered in Scotland

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Sean Connery’s ashes will be scattered in both the Bahamas and Scotland.
The iconic James Bond actor – who was the first to play 007 on the big screen – passed away at the age of 90 late last month, and his widow, Micheline Roquebrune, has revealed his final wish was to have his ashes scattered across both Scotland, where he was born, and the Bahamas, where he lived before his death.
Micheline shared: “He wanted his ashes to be scattered in the Bahamas and also in his homeland.”
However, Sean’s family will have to wait to scatter his ashes, as travel restrictions are in place amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Micheline added to the Scottish Mail: “Whenever it is possible and safe to travel again, then it is the family’s intention to return to Scotland with him. We would like to organise a memorial service for him in Scotland – that is our hope. But we cannot say when this will happen exactly.”
The actor’s wife also revealed that Sean would be cremated at a private service in the Caribbean island.
Sean’s passing was announced on October 31, when his family revealed he had died in his sleep while in the Bahamas.
And shortly after the tragic news was announced, Micheline confirmed Sean got his “final wish” by passing away peacefully.
She said: “It was no life for him. He was not able to express himself latterly. At least he died in his sleep and it was just so peaceful. I was with him all the time and he just slipped away. It was what he wanted. He had dementia and it took its toll on him. He got his final wish to slip away without any fuss.”
And Micheline – who was Sean’s second wife, marrying him in 1975 – paid tribute to Sean, who she called “a model of a man”.
She added: “He was gorgeous and we had a wonderful life together. He was a model of a man. It is going to be very hard without him, I know that. But it could not last for ever and he went peacefully.”
