Wes Nelson snubs reality TV offers for music career

OHMYGOSSIP — Wes Nelson has turned down reality TV offers so he can focus on his music career.
The former ‘Love Island’ star rose to fame on the ITV2 dating show in 2018, before appearing on the likes of ‘Dancing On Ice’, ‘Celebrity Antiques Roadshow’, ‘Crystal Maze’ and ‘Celebrity X Factor’ last year and then forging a career as a singer.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “There’s been quite a few shows and opportunities, which I turned down.
“I hadn’t signed a record deal. One of my managers was like, ‘Um, are you sure?’ He was confused. But I wanted music for longer.”
The ‘See Nobody’ hitmaker – whose debut single is set to hit the top three in the UK Singles Chart on Friday (06.11.20) after its release late last month – even snubbed interest from Syco after appearing in a ‘Love Island’ supergroup on last year’s ‘X Factor’.
He added: “I wanted full control of what I put out. It was blind faith.”
Wes previously insisted his singing ambitions aren’t just a “passion project or a whim”, as music is the only thing that’s ever “resonated” with him.
He said: “I’ve done a lot in 22 years, but music is the only thing that’s really resonated -  this is the one thing I really want to do.
“This is not a passion project or a whim or gimmick. I’m in this for the long haul.”
Wes has claimed he never has to work again after his stints on reality shows made him a millionaire.
He added: “I was a millionaire by the age of 21. And that’s not being a show off or anything, but it’s wise investments and understanding this life doesn’t last forever.
“I’ve been lucky to have so many shows under my belt, and I’m super grateful for that.
“I have a passive income and generational wealth, so my children, whenever they come about, they’re not going to have to work again. I don’t have to work again.”
