Tributes flood in for Frank Bough

OHMYGOSSIP — Piers Morgan has led tributes to the late Frank Bough.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter has paid tribute to the television presenter, who passed away in a care home last week at the age of 87. Frank was best known for fronting top BBC shows including ‘Grandstand’ and ‘Breakfast Time’.
Piers wrote on Twitter: “RIP Frank Bough, 87. Star of Grandstand, Nationwide and Breakfast Time. His career was ruined by scandal, but he was one of the great live TV presenters. Sad news.”
Astrologer Russell Grant added in his own message: “I am deeply saddened at the loss of an old television friend: Frank Bough was a great man to work with. We launched #BBCBreakfastTime in January 1983. Always there for advice and support. ‘They’ said we wouldn’t get on but we absolutely did – chalk n cheese! See you, Frank  (sic)”
Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling remembered Frank as “one of the very best in the business”.
He wrote: “I met Frank Bough when I was a young reporter. He was kind, helpful and generous with his time. His brilliant career was blighted by scandal but I hope people will remember how fine a broadcaster he was. One of the very best in the business.”
Nick Owen – who presented breakfast television on a rival station in the 1980s – paid tribute to the “ultimate broadcaster”.
In a tweet, he shared: “RIP Frank Bough. I regarded him as the ultimate broadcaster who combined news and sport brilliantly. Whatever the scandals that broke around him, he was an inspiration to me when I started in tv more than 40 years ago. (sic)”
Carol Kirkwood, who now presents the weather on the BBC, remembered a “kind and professional” man.
She wrote: “I worked with Frank Bough in the summer of 1983 when I was a student employed as a secretary on Breakfast Time. He was always very kind to me and very professional #RIP @BBCBreakfast (sic)”
The BBC also paid tribute to Frank, who they said “excelled as a live presenter”.
A BBC spokesperson said: “Frank excelled as a live presenter with the BBC for many years and we are very sorry to hear of his passing. We send our condolences to his family and friends.”
