Graham Norton gets bored chatting to famous guests

OHMYGOSSIP — Graham Norton gets bored listening to his famous guests.
The 57-year-old television and radio host – who fronts shows on BBC One and Radio 2 – admitted he can’t help but zone out sometimes in the middle of an anecdote.
He’s quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column as saying: “You zone back in and they’re still talking and you think: ‘I wonder if I’ve missed anything?’ But, you probably haven’t.
“That’s the trick. It’s just yakkety yak. If I’m on it, I’m listening. I’m still bored.”
Despite being a pro, Graham has still had his fair share of awkward moments, including one interview when he referred to Elizabeth McGovern as Elizabeth Montgomery.
The ‘Downton Abbey’ star “didn’t say anything” after he mixed her up with the late ‘Bewitched’ actress, who passed away in 1995.
The talk show host added: “The first time I said her name, a funny look went across her face, and bless her, this makes me like her so much, she didn’t say anything.
“She let me call her the wrong name.”
Meanwhile, Graham previously admitted he “often” has to interview people he doesn’t like, but people are “nicer” once they get on-air.
He said: “There are people on the show that you don’t like, that’s inevitable, but that doesn’t mean they are a bad guest.
“Often people I don’t like, they’re rather good guests. The people who work on the show dislike a lot more guests than I do. When they get on the sofa they’re nicer.”
He explained that famous faces “don’t want to drop that facade” by appearing unlikeable during an interview.
He added: “Performers – actors, singers, models – don’t want to drop that facade in front of an audience. They want that audience to like them.”
