Debbie Harry: Coronavirus conspiracy theories are insane

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie Harry thinks coronavirus conspiracy theories are “insane”.
The 75-year-old star has rubbished the ideas of conspiracy theorists, saying that if the virus was man-made, the person responsible for the global health crisis would need to be the “biggest f****** genius in the world”.
She said: “As far as conspiracy goes … huh! If this is a conspiracy, then the biggest f****** genius in the world has created it! I mean, that is insane. Totally insane!”
Debbie has also blasted Sir Van Morrison for his response to the coronavirus lockdown.
The ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ hitmaker has been critical of lockdown restrictions, but Debbie has revealed she’s not been surprised by his “very strange behaviour” amid the pandemic.
She told NME: “As far as Van Morrison’s concerned, he’s a wonderful, extraordinary talent, but he’s also completely mad.
“I mean, he has a history of very strange behaviour so it doesn’t really surprise me. And after all, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.”
Meanwhile, Debbie’s band Blondie are currently working on a new album and she’s explained how it’ll differ from their last record, 2017’s ‘Pollinator’.
Speaking about their approach to the album, Debbie – who co-founded the group with guitarist Chris Stein – shared: “[He] has several tracks and there’s one ballady-type song our producer John Congleton came up with that we’d love to do. I’m looking forward to getting something from our keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen, who’s written a lot of our new songs in the past.
“But no, we’re not going to approach it like ‘Pollinator’. If somebody submits a song that we absolutely die for, of course we’d do it, but we’re not going to ask this time.”
