Neil Young to quit touring?

OHMYGOSSIP — Neil Young’s current tour may be his last, according to Crazy Horse guitarist Frank Sampedro.

Neil Young’s current tour may be his last. The ‘Heart of Gold’ singer’s guitarist, Frank Sampedro – who has played with the rocker since 1975 as part of Crazy Horse – thinks he could be ready to quit after a 40 year touring career.

He told Rolling Stone magazine: “My gut tells me this is really the last tour. We’re playing as good as we ever did, but at any time something could go down with any one of us.”

Explaining how Neil, 67, and other members of the band have been suffering health issues, he added: “Neil’s wrist bugs him, and he has to tape it when he plays. I already had an operation on my thumb. It just seems at some point something is going to break.”

Speaking last year about the importance of taking time out from music and how he came to write his memoirs after breaking his foot, Neil said: “It gives me relief, it gives me something else to do so that music doesn’t wear me out, so that I don’t wear the music out.

“Everything should be taken in its own dose. You don’t want to OD on music and then the music loses its potency.”

Despite time out Neil has remained as prolific as ever, releasing two albums as Neil Young and Crazy Horse in 2012, ‘Americana’, and ‘Psychedelic Pill’.
